Furnace Options & Specialty Products
Quality Delube Processor (Q.D.P.)
Thorough binder removal is essential to ensure the most productive and consistent sintering results. The Abbott Q.D.P. is designed to remove lubricants present in powdered metal compacts.
The use of custom designed reaction/combustion chambers and a regulated atmosphere control, combined with our under-hearth heating system, assures that the process is completed efficiently and effectively. The custom designed unit may be included in the design of a new furnace or may be added as a retro-fit to an existing furnace.
Features:
Under Hearth Heating
• uniform heating and improved heat control
Continuously Fired Burners
• keeps heat constant
Primary Gas Reaction/Retention Chamber
• exothermic atmosphere creation sector
Secondary Gas Reaction/Retention Chamber
• lubricant removal area and a reaction center

Nitrogen Moisturizing Systems
Also available from Abbott Furnace Company for enhanced delubing is our Nitrogen Moisturizing System also known in the industry as a Bubbler. This option incorporates the following features to ensure the desired wet Nitrogen conditions:
Features:
Heated Water Chamber
• Element preheats the water before introduction of Nitrogen
Automatic Water Controls
• level sensors and solenoid maintain proper water level
Automatic Nitrogen controls
• Separate flow scopes control ratio of dry versus wet Nitrogen

VARICOOL
Enhanced cooling is recognized as a method of improving metallurgical properties without subsequent heat treating processes. Abbott's VARICOOL system combines radiant and convection cooling to accelerate the cooling capabilities of a continuous belt furnace, and is available on new furnace designs or as a retro-fit on an existing furnace.
Features:
Water Jacketed Chamber
• allows the convection cooling to be shut completely off
Multiple Re-circulating Injection Ports
• uniform cooling throughout the VARICOOL chamber
Water Cooled Heat Exchanger
• assists in cooling re-circulated atmosphere and increases cooling efficiency
Adjustable Piping System
• control of the atmosphere re-circulation and optimizes cooling profile
Abbott Furnace Company is a custom manufacturer and is not limited to the above-mentioned systems of delubrication. Each part or process has unique characteristics, which need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please call us with your needs.

TPP 300 Thermal Powder Processor
Warm compaction is one method of producing higher density powder metal parts.
In many cases it eliminates the need for double press/ double sinter operations.
Because the heated powder is more compressible, existing presses are able to produce higher tonnage and larger cross-sectional area parts.
Abbott Furnace’s TPP 300 provides the warm compaction you need for these processes. Based on the company’s years of development and field experience, the TPP 300 is the most productive and user friendly unit on the market today. Our standard unit provides a continuous powder temperature of 300 deg F (150 deg C) at a rate of 10 pounds (4.5 Kg) per minute. Other available models can run at a rate of up to 20 pounds (9.0 Kg) per minute and up to a maximum powder temperature of 500 deg F (260 deg C).
The TPP is a compact, extremely portable unit designed to adapt to most compaction presses, both new and old. In keeping with today’s stringent quality requirements the temperature control scheme can be plc controlled with data logging and networking capabilities or used as simple stand alone control.

Lab Furnaces
Abbott Furnace Company offers primarily two different types of lab furnaces. One is a small two or three inch wide continuous belt furnace and the other is a manual pusher furnace.
Features:
Standard Model for Both Pusher and Belt Furnaces
• one is a small two or three inch wide continuous belt furnace and the other is a manual pusher furnace • these can be run at temperatures up to 2100ºF/1150ºC.
Alloy Muffle
• our standard pusher and belt lab furnaces are designed with a alloy muffle at temperatures up to 2100ºF/1150ºC
High Temperature Model for Both Pusher and Belt Furnaces
